Objective: To evaluate mental and gross motor development of the infant sanatorium’s children up to 3 years.
Materials and methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted from 1 month to 3 years of children of whom birthdays are determined, there was included cerebral palsy unparalyses 60 children who is looked after some weak children in infant clinical sanatorium that is belong to Ministry of Health during January-May 2010.
Result: 45%-1-3 months, 35%- 4-12 months, 20%- 13-21 months are look after the sanatorium who attended in this study. In contrast, 21 (35%) of parents are belong to vulnerable group, 20 (33.3%) are lost, 4 (6.7%) deprived right to be parents, 2 (3.3%) are parents were in prison, 2 (3.3%) are half-orphan, 1 (1.7%) are orphan children who attended this study. 37 (61.7%) are in residence of Ulaanbaatar city, 5 (8.3%) are countryside area, 18 (30%) are uncertain home address.
There was personal-social normal 33 (55%) and delayed 27 (45%), fine motor functions normal 31 (51.7%) and delayed 29 (48.3%), language normal 12(20%) and delayed 48 (80%), gross motor functions normal 21 (35%) and delayed 38 /63.3%/. In addition, delayed personal-social is high in 19-24 months 8 (72.7%) and 11 (40.7%) parents related to vulnerable group.
Conclusion: The children of infant clinical sanatorium’s had neurodevelopment delayed.
