Абстракт

Background: For nowadays, the special attention is paid to the problem of human
adaptation in industrial countries, where people are subjected to bad ecology and
other technological and stress factors. The present work was aimed to investigate
hepatoprotective activity of adaptogenic preparations of natural origin – apilac,
Polyphytoton and Adapton-6. Apilac is a product of beekeeping and prepared
from royal jelly bees. Polyphytoton and Adapton-6 are the multicomponent herbal
adaptogenic remedies in the form of the alcohol tincture consists of 17 species
herbal plants and the dry extracts of 6 species plants.
Objectives: The aim of our study was to investigate the influence of adaptogens
apilac, Polyphytoton and Adapton-6 on liver function of laboratory animals in
acute toxicity induced by carbon tetrachloride and to compare its effect with
hepatoprotective drug Allohol.
Methods: The hepatoprotective effect was studied further in white rats of
Wistar line of both sexes weighing 160-200 g. The acute toxic liver damage was
caused by the subcutaneous injection of 50% oil solution of carbon tetrachloride
(СС14), volume of 0,4 ml/100g of animal weight once in a day during 3 days. The
experimental treatment was performed once per day, starting from the third day for
21 days after carbon tetrachloride intoxication. The effect of studied preparations
was evaluated on 7, 14 and 21 day of a study, using the blood biochemical analysis,
activity of free radical oxidation processes and antioxidant system condition. The
level of aspartate and alanine aminotransferases, cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase,
bilirubin, protein, malondialdehyde (MDA) and catalase activity in serum of rats
were determined.
Results: The use of apilac (400 mg/kg), Polyphytoton (3,0 ml/kg) and
Adapton-6 (100 mg/kg) produce the early decrease of liver function parameters,
which proves its therapeutic effect. The investigated preparations have good
pharmacotherapeutic effect, normalizes the lipid, carbohydrate metabolism, have
a membrane-stabilizing antioxidant effect, control the serum cytoplasmic enzymes,
prevent from damages of hepatocytes.
Conclusion: The use of adaptogenic preparations with hepatoprotective effect
largely contributes to the accelerated recovery of various functions of the body, in
particular antitoxic liver function.
