Introduction

MongolMed was founded by initiation of Mongolian medical journals and support of Academy of Mongolian Medicine, WHO, MOH. Mongolian medical journals are currently paper based and journal producers uploaded journal information on MongolMed. Articles with English abbreviation which posted on MongolMed will be placed to e-database by (WPRIM) journal indexing organization of WPRO, enabling use and information sharing among world medical sector researchers.

History of MongolMed

Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences set its webpage in 2004 and opened corner to upload articles of “Mongolian Medical Sciences” journal.

In 2008, when Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors (APAME) was already founded representatives of some Mongolian medical journals came to consensus and Mongolian Association of Medical Journal Editors was founded in April of 2008. Association started establishment of e-database of Mongolian medical journals from 2010.

Brief history of MongolMed:

·       Academy of Mongolian medicine delegation participated in Opening meeting of western pacific region medical journals e-database which was held in Beijing, May of 2010.

·       During this event delegation was introduced with Institute of Medical information of People’s Republic of China Academy of Medicine.

·       Deputy director Fan An of the Institute of Medical information of People’s Republic of China’ Academy of Medicine was invited by Academy of Mongolian medicine to Ulaanbaatar in July of 2010 and introduced with Academy of Mongolian medicine web page and assisted to improve electronic pages of Academy of Mongolian medicine.

·       Mr N.Naranbaatar from “Gyals” Medical center and Mr B.Gantsooj from NCCD representatives from Academy of Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences worked in  Institute of Medical Information of People’s Republic of China and made copies of “Mongolian Medical Sciences” journal series of 1970-2009 year.

·       Secretary-general of Academy of Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences, responsible secretary of Mongolian Medical Sciences Journal  B.Burmaajav conveyed request for assistance in establishment of e-database of Mongolian medical journals to WPRO office during first congress of APAME/WPRIM , which was organized in 2011, Seoul.

·       Dr.L.Battur, Vice-Director of “Ach” Medical Institute, Ms. T.Batdolgor, and Officer in charge of e-information of MOH is participated in training on uploading of database of medical journal, Chendun, China in October 2010.

·       Dr. R.Manju, PhD, Senior Officer of the Health Science coordination, WPRO, has worked in Mongolia in November 2011. During the visit Mr.R.Manju met with Minister of Health and President of MAMS and visited some research organizations. Also visited to some Information Technology company and suggested to set up “MongolMed” web site model in Mongolia.

·       Information Technology companies of Mongolia have developed project “MongolMed”  and submitted to WPRO,  finally selected Slide Co.Ltd company to do the web site.

·       Slide Co.Ltd have developed “MongolMed” model agreement with WPRO in February,  and structured  website, developed guideline to enter data and organized training for journal publishers.

·        The 8 medical journals have uploaded journal articles in last 2-40 years in this website. Further, we are planning to enter all journals’ articles, and will update every year this database.

From this “MongolMed” we can read all 8 medical journal’s articles. Further possible to enter and read other journal’s articles, who registered in WPRIM.

It is possible to have some information of journals that entered in this website. Example: Journal name, printed year, frequency of publication, journal publisher, editor-in-chief of journal, publication types of journal, State registration number, ISSN, subscription number and contact address.
