Objectives: To define accident that caused child mortality in Darkhan-Uul aimag
Study methodology: Study was retrospective and conducted in Darkhan-Uul aimag between 2005-2007 studied 26 children`s medical history and record book that all admitted in hospital and dead.
Study results: 95 children dead in Darkhan-Uul aimag between 2005-2007, 26/27.3%/ of them related with accident. In the group were 16/62%/ male, 10/38%/ female and we can see age related case 0-1 years 2/7.6%/, 1-5 years 2/7.6%/, 6-10 years 10/26.9%/, 11-19 years 12/46.3%/ . Causes of mortality were traffic accident, 7/30.8%/, suicide 7/27%/, domestic injuries 3 /11.5%/, homicide 2 /7.7%/, others (breast choked, drown, hypothermic affect) 4/15.3%/ байна. Causes related with age were 0-1 year breast choked, traffic accident, 1-5 years fall from height, drunk vinegar, 6-10 traffic accident, suicide, electric shock, fall from height , 11-19 traffic accident, suicide, drown, hypothermia, carbon monoxide poisoning.
Concusions: 27.3% of mortality of children related with accident in Darkhan-Uul aimag . 46.3% of them were adolescent /11-19 / . Main causes of accident were traffic accident /30.8%/, suicide /27%/, domestic injuries /11.5%/. Most of the children who had accident were living in ger/69.3%/, family with number of children, with low education and low income parents.
