Abstract
The aim of this paper is to compare the news related to the history of Ayurveda in Mongolian famous physician Lunrig Dandar’s work with the news in Aurvedic original works such as “Sushrutasamhita”, “Charakasamhita‘’ and “Ashtanga-hridaya’’et.c with Indian and western modern scientific news. The history of Ayurveda was divided into four main periods such as 1.period of heavens, 2.period of the sages, 3.period of Buddha and 4.period of Bodhisatvas or disciples of Buddha by Lunrig Dandar. In first period Brahma revealed Ayurveda to Prajapati who handed it to Asvins wherefrom it passed to Indra. It agrees with the Sanskrit originals. In second period he wrote 3 group sages. One of them agrees with “Charakasamhita‘’ and “Ashtanga-hridaya”. In third and fourth period he wrote the biographies of Buddha, Jevaka, Nagarjuna, Bagbhata, Chandranandana and Ratnasambhava. Some news in these biographies contradicts with modern scientific news. Lunrig Dandar only quoted Tibetan texts and did not use Sanskrit originals.
