The RP-HPLC method of qualitative and quantitative determination of the quality of the medicinal plant Scabiosa comosa Fisch widely used in Mongolian Traditional medicine have been developed. Luteolki has been taken as a standard and HPLC determination were achieved using column C|8(250*4.6mm), the flow phase CH3OH-0.4% H,P04H20(55:45) and the detection wavelength 254nm. The linear ranges of Luteolin was 0.072~0.036ig(r=0.9997). The average recovery rate was 98.19% ( RSD=0.872%). The content of luteolin in Scabiosa comosa provided by the Attached Hospital of Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities and collected from Hanshan mountain and from Hingan, Inner Mongolia were 1.97mg/g, 5.88mg/g and 7.49mg/g respectfully.
