Health Sciences University of Mongolia
The main objective of the study is to evaluate current situation of research and projects of the HSUM and to determine its' constraints and solution for further progress. Current situation of the research was evaluated by situation analysis and cross-sectional study was used for studying lecturer and researcher's participation in the research and project. We used SWOT analysis simultenouscly for assessing current situation of the research based on 2 stages research results and related reports.
Number and funding of the research projects of the HSUM were increased and expanded in comparision to 2004. Lecturers and researchers who conduct and particpate in the research and project were increased. For study design, descriptive and observational studies dominated in the most of health research; and almost half percent of the research was conducted in national level however number of research (24%) achieved international and regional levels had rised. Common contraints such as develop proposal for research work, search funding, data analysis skills and publish research results are common. In addition, lack of laboratory capacity, advanced technology and funding for research are still main problems in the medical research.
Overall, in comparison former study of 2004, there is an increasing number and quality of research projects at the HSUM and it will have a growing tendency in the future.
