Абстракт

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between caries activity and presence of cariogenic bacteria of mothers and caries status of children. The subjects for this study were 320 mother-child pairs of Ulaanbaatar city. The ages of the children ranged from 6-30 months. Oral examination and caries risk assessment using the Cariostat® test. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between caries risk of mother-child pairs and the presence of S.mutans and S.sobrinus in Cariostat-inoculated plaque samples. There was a statistically significant correlation was found between the presence of cariogenic bacteria and caries risk level of mothers and of their children (p<0.001), (p<0.05).
