The traditional prescription has many kind of composition and there are about 300 wich are used now.
There are ten groups of traditional formulations such as crude drug , species , dragee, ointment, ash preparation, tincture, precious preparation and herbals.
Crude drug named Gishuune- 3 was choosed as a object of the study. Gishuune - 3 is a laxative remedy wich consists of Rheum undulatum, Terminalia chebula and Trona.
There are many traditional crude drugs , the dose most of them are no precise and the hygienic condition of preparation is inappropriate and they are inconvenient for the storage, transportation and use.
The purpose of the study was possibility of preparation modem dosage form from traditional crude drug Gishuune- 3 wich is used as a laxative remedy.
There is Rheum tablet is used a laxative drug and is included in the list of Essential drugs .
But this tablet has not so good laxative effect. In comparison with this tablet Gishuune- 3 has more effective action.
On the purpose of the study of preparation modern dosage form was studied many methods of tabletting.
For the optimization of tabletting process was used many excipients with different rate.
On the basis of study of optimal condition of tabletting process was developed technology of preparation Gishuune - 3 tablet from traditional prescription.
Quality of tablet was analyzed by criteria such as identification, weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration and assay.
Result of the study shows possibility of preparation of tablet by direct press method.
On the basis of result of the study was developed technological instuction of preparation of Gishuune- 3 tablet and project of standart for quality assessment of this tablet
